The SCI-Arc Gallery is open daily, 10am-6pm.
SCI-Arc is pleased to announce the 2013 Undergraduate Thesis presentations and the opening for the school’s end-of-year Spring Show exhibition, featuring student work from all programs.
The undergraduate program at SCI-Arc supports and values thesis as an opportunity for students to both synthesize their undergraduate work over the part five years, and to also aim beyond that base of knowledge towards new propositions. It serves as a conceptual jumping-off point for them, as they prepare to graduate and engage in the field of architecture.
Thesis presentations and reviews are scheduled to take place throughout the school on Friday, April 19th and Saturday, April 20th, 10am-5pm. Graduating students will go head-to-head in reviews with renowned visiting critics such as Peter Cook, Monica Ponce de Leon, Peter Trummer, David Ruy, Neil Denari and Thom Mayne, and in what’s become a tradition in recent years, SCI-Arc will welcome visiting professor Jeff Kipnis as special thesis advisor.
Opening on April 20th, 9pm, the 7th annual Spring Show exhibition follows thesis presentations with a curated display of some of the best student projects from undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate design studios, as well as coursework from the applied, cultural and visual studies seminars. Exhibited throughout the school, this year's Spring Show serves as backdrop for SCI-Arc’s 40th anniversary After-Party, taking place on campus from 9-11pm. More at http://40.sciarc.edu.
Spring Show and Undergraduate Thesis projects will remain on view from the public through May 12, 2013.
