W.M. Keck Lecture Hall
Intro by John Enright
GRAFT│Frankfurt International Airport, A-Plus Terminal│Frankfurt, Germany
Graft principals Lars Krückeberg and Christoph Korner lecture on their Pursuit of Happiness that has taken the office over the last 15 years around the world, exploring and discovering a wide variety of themes and realms.
Their projects range from product, furniture, exhibition, set and interior design, to architecture, urban planning and master planning. In addition non-profit projects, teaching, publishing and commissioned research have enriched their path. This wide range of projects creates a toolbox from which the four partners choose different parts for every project. "The name of the office is also the program: we believe in an eclectic practice that grafts unique solutions for every adventure."
(L to R): Christoph Korner, Wolfram Putz, Thomas Willemeit & Lars Krückeberg
GRAFT was conceived in 1998 as a label for Architecture, Urban Planning, Design, Music, and the 'Pursuit of Happiness.' Since the firm was established, it has been commissioned to design and manage a wide range of projects in multiple disciplines and locations. With the core of the firm’s enterprises gravitating around the field of architecture and the built environment, GRAFT has always maintained an interest in crossing the boundaries between disciplines and grafting the creative potentials and methodologies of different realities. This is reflected in the firm’s expansion into the fields of exhibition and product design, art installations, academic projects and events, as well as in the variety of project locations in Germany, China UAE, Russia, Georgia, in the USA and Mexico, to name a few. www.graftlab.com
