Süha Özkan: Urban Transformations in Istanbul

In a short period of little more than a decade Istanbul has doubled its population. As the industries move out new landscapes become available for urban transformations. Metropolitan Planning Bureau of Istanbul engages international talents for these projects. Suha Ozkan has organised two invites competitions for two wide patches of land in the East and West of the city. Competitors were Massimiliano Fuksas, Zaha Hadid and Kisho Kurokawa for Kartal ; Kengo Kuma, Winny Maas and Ken Yeang were for Kucukcekmece. The lecture will present and discuss the projects presented for this historical event.
