Marc Frohn: so FAR so good
Marc Frohn is co-founder and concept development and design principal of FAR frohn&rojas, an architectural office networked between Cologne, Germany; Santiago, Chile; and Mexico City. Recent work includes Wall House, a residence in Santiago completed in 2007; Wkomm, an EU-funded research into communicational strategies for science as a field of study; and House in Heat, a smart heat-responsive residence currently under construction. In 2007 he co-founded WISE environments, a RWTH University-based research platform focusing on investigation and development of learning environments. Educated in Germany, Italy and the U.S. as a Fulbright scholar, Frohn received his Masters degree from Rice University.
Before coming to SCI-Arc, he taught architecture at RWTH Aachen, one of Germany’s leading universities. He has participated in a series of exhibitions, most recently the 2006 Venice Biennale. Recent publications include Arch+, Azure, and Arquine, and the Wall House is soon to be featured in the November 2007 issue of Domus and Mark Magazine. In 2007, his office received the highly regarded German Young Architect’s Design Award, Förderpreis NRW.
