Raymond Richard Neutra is Chief Emeritus of the division of environmental and occupational disease control at the California Department of Public Health.
Neutra, who is the youngest son of architect Richard Neutra, taught medical epidemiology at Harvard University, UCLA, UCB and Cali, Colombia. At California Department of Public Health, he headed up a 200-staff division researching environmental and occupational health problems. Since retiring in 2007, he has been volunteering to help Cal Poly Pomona in restoring and programming the experimental Neutra studio/residences in the Silver Lake district of Los Angeles. His lecture will focus on the Viennese roots of the waves of experimentation at the site, the possibilities it inspires and their connection to public health.
