SCI-Arc is pleased to present the lecture WALK by Brendan MacFarlane (B.Arch '84), co-founder of Paris-based Jakob+MacFarlane, on Wednesday, November 3, starting 7pm. His lecture will be followed by an opening reception for the exhibition ABOUT, presented by Jakob+MacFarlane in the Library Gallery at SCI-Arc from November 3 - December 12, 2010.

ABOUT will feature drawings, renderings, and photographs of two Jakob+MacFarlane projects currently under construction in France: the Orange Box in Lyon and the FRAC Centre (Fonds Regional d'Art Contemporain) in Orléans.

Born in New Zealand, MacFarlane received his B.Arch degree from SCI-Arc and his M.Arch degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has held teaching positions at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London (1996–98), the Ecole Spéciale d'Architecture in Paris (1998–99), at SCI-Arc (2006) and at various other schools.
