Wednesday, February 16, 7pm
W.M. Keck Lecture Hall
Intro by Eric Owen Moss
Paolo Cascone is principal of COdesignLab, an architectural practice and design research laboratory at the forefront of performance-oriented architecture, environmental parametric design and consultancy. Cascone’s research and work is dedicated to the development of an interdisciplinary design methodology in the field of eco_logic design.
Based on a morphogenetic process in which the cause-effect relationship between form and performance structures projects in a site-specific way, the eco_logic design approach confronts the question of how to reconcile tekné/artifice with nature, aiming to define new relations between high-tech design and low-tech construction.
Cascone is also director of the Urban Ecologies Program at the Ecole spéciale d'architecture (ESA) in Paris.
