Intro by and conversation with Marcelyn Gow

Erick Cárcamo (B.Arch '04) currently teaches at SCI-Arc and is also a visiting professor at UPenn School of Design, Yale School of Architecture, the University of Kentucky, College of Design, the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and Lunds Tekniska Hogskola LTH in Sweden. He has recently taught at Columbia University GSAPP; Pratt Institute, and the University of Applied Arts, Vienna.

Cárcamo has worked as Lead Designer for Coop Himmelb(l)au in Vienna, ASYMPTOTE Architecture New York, Xefirotarch in Los Angeles and freelanced for Bernard Tschumi Architects NYC. Born in El Salvador, Erick holds a Masters Degree in Advanced Architectural Design, AAD from Columbia University GSAPP and a Bachelor's Degree from SCI-Arc. He is Principal and co-founder of X|A, a practice networked in Europe, Latin America and the US. Which design intentions and processes deviate towards the extreme conditions of innovation and the pure coherence of technique invention.
