Alum Alejandro Artigas (B.Arch '03) of Artless and fellow partner Thomas John Curtis are featured in the May 2010 issue of Los Angeles Times Magazine. The publication's design-dedicated issue lists Artigas and Curtis among "design's fresh faces."
Artigas, 32, trained as an architect at SCI-Arc and Columbia University and has completed several large-scale public-art projects in his family's native home, Mexico City. He founded Artless together with Curtis in 2003.
Thirty years ago, the ultimate luxury was a big juicy steak covered in béarnaise sauce," says Artigas. What Artless does "is more like eating an heirloom tomato. You have a raw material and treat it with minimal intrusions: salt, pepper, oil and that's it. I think we are after this kind of subtlety," adds Artias.
