Curbed LA Features SCI-Arc Faculty, Alumni

SCI-Arc faculty members Alexis Rochas and Juan Azulay were featured in Curbed LA's year-end review of LA's up-and-coming architects, Best Architecture, Bold-Faced Names of 2009. Tagged as "SCI-Arc's Buenos Aires Brigade" by Curbed LA writer Marissa Gluck, Rochas and Azulay are described as "two of SCI-Arc's more intriguing faculty members." Both are working on upcoming exhibitions this spring at SCI-Arc. (See Exhibitions for details)

The "Hidden House" by SCI-Arc Alum Jeffrey Allsbrook (M. Arch ‘95) of Standard LA is featured as the Notable Home of the year. Allsbrook and partner Silvia Kuhle converted an existing two-bedroom located on a serene 7-acre site in Mt Washington into a unique home featuring sustainable materials.

The article also highlights SCI-Arc alumni Benjamin Ball (B.Arch '94) and Gaston Nogues (B. Arch '93), of Ball-Nogues Studio, whose work will be included this year in shows at the Seeline Gallery in West Hollywood, the Guggenheim Museum in New-York, and at Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine in Paris.
