Rob Ley will lecture at Virginia Tech on Monday, March 1st. His lecture, titled Immediate Material Futures, will showcase recent work and focus on the role that material capabilities and untapped fabrication techniques offer throughout the generative design process. The lecture will include the presentation of White Noise, a current design and research project funded by the AIA Upjohn and Graham Foundation Grants.
Ley teaches graduate and undergraduate courses at SCI-Arc and is principal of Urbana, an architecture and design studio based in Los Angeles. His practice engages current material and formal technologies to develop environments that respond to human inhabitation and experience.
