Alumna Appointed Cultural Affairs Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles

Alumna Annie Chu (B.Arch '83) has recently been appointed to the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Commission. Chu is currently serving as the 2010 Chair of the AIA National Interior Architecture Committee and as editorial board member of the AIACC journal arcCA.

A dedicated educator of architecture and design since 1990, Chu has taught at NYIT, Parsons, UT Austin, UCLA, USC, Art Center College of Design, ASU and SCI-Arc. While on the AIA|LA board of directors, she helped establish the annual 2x8 student exhibition and scholarship fund.

Chu is a founding principal of Chu+Gooding Architects in Los Angeles, focusing on projects for arts-related and higher education clients, including arts organization such as MoCA, the Hammer Museum, the Getty Center and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. She received a B.Arch from SCI-Arc and an M.Arch from Columbia University, and trained for 12 years with Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects in New York and Franklin D. Israel in Los Angeles.
