SCI-Arc distinguished faculty member Hernan Diaz Alonso, principal of Xefirotarch, will lecture at UCLA Architecture on Monday, April 12, starting 6:30pm. The event presents Diaz-Alonso in conversation with Jason Payne, an assistant professor at UCLA Architecture and principal of Hirsuta.
Xefirotarch's design obsessions are based on as appreciation for the perversity of mutant form, a taste learned from the movies.
Payne's work promotes a new materialism with a distinctly bias, informed by intensive research and an experimental approach. His work engages material dynamics in the production of form to create a direct appeal to the senses.
The lecture will take place at Perloff Hall, Decafe on the UCLA campus. Visitors should enter campus at Westholme Ave/Hilgard Ave.
