Alum Recognized for Taiwan Urban Redevelopment Proposal
Recent alum Michael Arellanes II (B.Arch '08) of MA2 received a Merit Award for his submission in the international Taiwan Tower Competition sponsored by the Taiwanese government.
Participants were asked to submit conceptual designs to showcase the Taiwan Tower and Museum in the context of the city's newly established "Taichung Gateway Park" area.
Prompted by the relocation of Taiwan's centrally-positioned airport, the park is viewed as an international portal into the vibrant urban oasis of Central Taiwan, and is set to become one of the city's most important urban development project.
