MAIN EVENT 10
On Friday, November 4, at the Prism Gallery in West Hollywood, more than 200 of Los Angeles’ top architects and designers, downtown community leaders, prominent business executives, and SCI-Arc alumni and friends gathered at SCI-Arc’s “Main Event 10”– the school’s annual fundraising event benefiting the Alumni Scholarship Fund. This year's Main Event raised $60,000 going towards Endowed Alumni Scholarships.

Confirmed guests this year included Eric Owen Moss, SCI-Arc Director; Thom Mayne, SCI-Arc co-founder and principal of Morphosis; Ming Fung, SCI-Arc Director of Academic Affairs, and Craig Hodgetts; LA Councilwoman Jan Perry, SCI-Arc co-founder Ray Kappe and Shelly Kappe; former directors Neil Denari and Michael Rotondi; Chris Genik and Kevin Daly; alumni Barbara Bestor, Steve Ehrlick, Angie Brooks and Larry Scarpa, Annie Chu and Rick Gooding, Anabelle Avery and Eric Avery from Jane’s Addiction; trustees Ian Robertson and Kevin Ratner; faculty members Tom Wiscombe and Marcelo Spina; and SCI-Arc supporters Tim and Neda Disney, Bettina Korek and NCIS’s Rocky Carroll.
Main Event 10 honored SCI-Arc Trustee Emeritus Ian Robertson, a real-estate developer who has been a vital member of the school’s board of trustees for the past twenty years. Ian oversaw the expansion of the SCI-Arc Board from a group of four people to a representative body of 22. He was Chairman of the Board for nine years in total, during two periods of intense leadership change for SCI-Arc. He was instrumental in locating and securing the school’s present location in downtown Los Angeles—purchased by SCI-Arc in April 2011. On November 4, Robertson will be awarded the inaugural Ian Robertson Award for Leadership and Service.
