Why did you choose architecture?
“There are three forms of visual art: painting is art to look at, sculpture is art you can walk around, and architecture is art you can walk through.” Since I was very young, I was always interested in sketching and drawing, but this is just one of the many reasons why I chose architecture. Architecture simply satisfies my imagination of space, materials and color; the way architecture can play with our senses, with light, temperature and the environment surrounding us, is what really fascinates me and fuels my desire to research and study this field.

Why did you choose to attend SCI-Arc?
Post-graduate education at SCI-Arc is well known for its excellence and dependence on a free thinking approach to design, guided by a carefully planned course curriculum that emphasizes the artistic aspect of design. Pursuing my master’s degree at SCI-Arc provides me with a larger scope of interest which would further enrich my education, as SCI-Arc is exposing us to myriad ways of thinking and gives us the freedom to invent ourselves as individuals, both on a professional and personal level.

My personal interests while at SCI-Arc are two-fold. I want to fully take advantage of the great education SCI-Arc has to offer and get involved in research work which I can there on transfer and apply in my home country. Second, I want to focus on educating and preparing myself to run for public office in my home country, where I will be able to serve and give back to my community.

What are the defining or unique characteristics of SCI-Arc students?
The atmosphere here is challenging, yet amazing. Students come to SCI-Arc from all over the world, each of them with unique concepts and ideas. I believe this multicultural interaction and idea exchange is instrumental in helping us widen our perspective of practicing architecture in a global setting. Moreover, SCI-Arc inspires us to think in a different way, to look at architecture from a different angle, and because of that, I believe the end result will be very unique.

"I chose SCI-Arc because I felt the school could give me an educational experience unique to this institution alone, and the ability to think and create architecture in a more engaging and less traditional way."
