What is it about Architecture that drives you?
I am intrigued by architecture's ability to shape potential realities and the idea of complexity, and the opportunity to become part of a new hybrid architecture of systems that reflect performative qaulities in the improvement of the built environment.

Why did you choose to attend SCI-Arc?
SCI-Arc's critical discourse and vision is deeply rooted in my ambitions towards next generation architecture. I am passionate about SCI-Arc's culture to attempt the extremes and to set new standards beyond traditional realms.

What are the strengths of the SCI-Arc curriculum?
The curriculum is a laboratory of experimentation and problem-solving reflective towards challenges involving industry. It provides an exercise that forces us to think beyond set notions about architecture that prepares us for the unpredictable.

What are the defining or unique characteristics of SCI-Arc students?
Students here are moderately competitive; yet very approachable critical thinkers. The eclectic international crowd sets the tone to a distinct atmosphere and different level of diversity.

What is your favorite studio experience at SCI-Arc?
First year has been quite intense in acquiring the necessary application tools to properly communicate language and to survive in the terrain. The amount of projects and material covered is immense. I am excited about the "next to come" and vertical studios.

Have you been involved in projects outside of the required coursework?
I was invited to participate and help students with their final setup for Graduate Thesis Weekend. It was an informative and exciting time behind the scenes to collaborate in the assembly and production process of such "off the edge" projects.

What are your plans upon graduation from SCI-Arc? How will your education at SCI-Arc help you achieve your goals in the future?
I would like to establish an international firm of small-scale design projects between Barcelona, Paris and the US and to eventaully pursue a PhD at Harvard. I believe SCI-Arc is the ideal platform to gain the necessary assets to activate this vital link between academic/professional ambitions.

Sara L.

"I chose SCI-Arc because I felt the school could give me an educational experience unique to this institution alone, and the ability to think and create architecture in a more engaging and less traditional way."

Peter V.

"It's fascinating to build...and to destroy! At SCI-Arc, we all share a certain curiosity for capital A, Architecture, a will to build, and of course to discuss this whole process. " Read more >>

"SCI-Arc inspires us to think in a different way, to look at architecture from a different angle, and because of that, I believe the end result will be very unique."
