Most of SCI-Arc's students live in apartments or lofts close to the campus in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles, or in surrounding communities, many accessible by bike or public transportation.
There is no on-campus housing provided at SCI-Arc. Students live in the Arts District itself or the nearby communities of Little Tokyo, Echo Park, Chinatown, Silver Lake, and Koreatown. Each community has a distinctive flavor that can best be understood by visiting. Some have easily accessible public transportation, others may require a vehicle.
Students who are accepted to SCI-Arc gain access to their personal account on the my.sciarc.edu portal, which includes a housing section with postings of roommate ads, sublets, and apartment openings. The admissions staff is also available to help incoming students learn about neighborhoods and living options.
While finding housing in any new city can be challenging, our experience is that most SCI-Arc students find suitable accommodations within a week or two. We always recommend that you visit your future home in person before signing any contracts.
