Jia Gu is a Los Angeles-based designer, educator and curator with a special interest in critical and conceptual practices in art and architecture. She holds a B.A in Visual Arts with Honors from UCSD and a Master of Architecture with Honors from UCLA. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Architecture at UCLA and is the Executive Director of Materials & Applications. Prior to teaching, she has worked internationally in Berlin, Barcelona, and Anyang. Her public projects have been recognized and supported by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, Graham Foundation, Pasadena Arts Alliance, and UCLA.
