SCI-Arc Kappe Library
July 24, 2019 at 7:00pm

On Wednesday, July 24, SCI-Arc will host a book signing at the Kappe Library for the new edition of David Gebhard and Robert Winter’s classic An Architectural Guidebook to Los Angeles, featuring a talk by co-editor Robert Inman.

When the first edition of An Architectural Guidebook to Los Angeles was published by LACMA in 1965 it instantly became the essential tool for discovering L.A.’s built environment. The latest – sixth – edition was published in 2018 by Angel City Press, revised and updated with more than 200 new entries by Robert Winter and Robert Inman. SCI-Arc faculty and alumni are well represented in the new edition, as is the rapidly evolving Arts District.

Robert Inman is the author of A Guide to the Stairways of Los Angeles (2008) and Finding Los Angeles by Foot: Stairstreet, Bridge, Pathway and Lane (2013). A native son of Los Angeles, he is an award-winning urban walker and frequent collaborator with his mentor, Dr. Robert W. Winter.

Angel City Press, established in 1992, is dedicated to the publication of luxuriously illustrated nonfiction, with an emphasis on chronicling the cultural history of California and the West. (https://www.angelcitypress.com/)
