He and NFL legend Marshawn Lynch also founded the Oakland Panthers, the newest team in the Indoor Football League. Prior to Knighted, Choi was CEO and co-founder of Mars Entertainment, a film distribution company acquiring Hollywood feature films for distribution in Korea.

Involved in nonprofit work for many years, Choi is founder and chairman of Children in Harmony’s Amani Project. In partnership with the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, the Amani Project is a nonprofit aimed at building gender equity and empathy in developing communities through music and social/emotional intelligence education. Choi is also Executive Producer and Board Chair of Kollaboration, a nationwide nonprofit showcasing emerging Asian Pacific artists and performers. Kollaboration was founded in 2000 and is now in 15 cities across North America, receiving numerous awards and accolades.

While our traditional views of architecture are of physical structures, SCI-Arc really promotes design thinking, innovation, and viewing the world from other lenses,” says Choi. “We've never been as ‘virtual’ as we are now, yet never more interconnected with each other as members of the earth. As someone whose work focuses mainly in entertainment and the gaming world, I am excited to contribute to this remarkable institution—and I look forward to the many resulting collisions and collaborations.”
