A trained architect with more than 25 years of international experience in architecture, construction, and interior design, Schoellnberger brings deep expertise at the intersection of design vision, strategic development, and global hospitality.
As Head of the Design & Construction Department at CTF Development International, the global real estate and hospitality group behind Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Schoellnberger leads the conception and realization of projects across Europe, North and South America, and the Caribbean. His work integrates high-end lifestyle sensibilities with thoughtful architectural design, emphasizing the relationship between social context, cultural identity, and place. Under his leadership, numerous properties have received international recognition and design awards.
Schoellnberger studied architecture at the University of Technology in Vienna and later earned a Master of Science in Architectural Design from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation as a Fulbright Scholar.
“I am thrilled to join such a distinguished group of leaders on the SCI-Arc Board,” said Schoellnberger. “SCI-Arc is more than just a school; it is a global catalyst for design excellence. I look forward to contributing my experience in development to help the institution navigate its next chapter of growth, while staying true to the spirit of radical experimentation that makes SCI-Arc so unique.”
“Dieter brings a rare combination of architectural training and global development expertise,” said Winka Dubbeldam, Director and CEO of SCI-Arc. “His ability to translate ambitious design ideas into complex built realities will be invaluable as we continue to expand SCI-Arc’s impact. We are excited to welcome his perspective to the Board at a pivotal moment of growth for the institution.”
Schoellnberger’s global perspective and experience guiding complex, design-driven developments will support SCI-Arc’s continued evolution as a center for architectural innovation and applied research. His appointment strengthens the Board’s commitment to advancing the school’s mission while positioning it for strategic growth in the years ahead.
