Christina (Tina) Christie
Christina (Tina) Christie is a distinguished academic leader and researcher in education and evaluation. She currently serves as the Dean of the School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA, a position she has held since April 2021. Before this, she served as Interim Dean from 2020 to 2021 and Chair of the Department of Education from 2015 to 2020.
Dr. Christie earned her Ph.D. in Social Research Methodology from UCLA, following earlier degrees in Counseling Psychology and Experimental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her academic career has been marked by significant contributions to evaluation theory and practice, with a particular focus on the relationship between evaluation theory and its application to social betterment.
As Dean, Dr. Christie oversees a complex academic organization, managing an annual budget of approximately $85 million and leading initiatives that have resulted in substantial growth in student enrollment, research, and donor funding.
