Steven Song is the founding principal of SCAAA, a Los Angeles-based international design office focusing on development strategy and architecture. Prior to starting his own practice, Song was the Associate Partner for MADA s.p.a.m. based in Shanghai, China, and has worked for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Arquitectonica, and Robert Venturi, and Denise Scott Brown. Song is also CEO of Axle Companies, his family office, which invests in real estate and social impact businesses.

The SCAAA Process™ is a copyrighted real estate strategy tool that uses a proprietary technology, AIBE (AI for Built Environment), to derive the optimum real estate positioning for properties and create unique value-add opportunities. AIBE draws from both quantitative and qualitative research, sifting through large amounts of hard data, as well as relevant essays, news articles, and social media posts, to predict future trends relevant to each project scope and location. The SCAAA Process™ provides a medium between intangible data and physical space, finding a way to express society’s changing preferences through operational and architectural design.

Song holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Song is on the board of the Hammer Museum and SCI-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture).
