A donor-advised fund is a philanthropic giving vehicle that provides an immediate tax benefit to you and allows you to grant funds to charities you choose, on your own timeline. You set aside cash, stocks or non-publicly traded assets, sometimes allowing for tax-free growth to maximize the impact of your donation. You can set up a donor-advised fund through many different financial institutions and foundations.
